Cripple Wall Bracing

Picture
A cripple wall is the wall that sits within the crawl space. The small studs that surround the crawl space and assist with upholding the first floor are known as a cripple wall. If a cripple wall fails during an earthquake, then the home is at risk of a collapsing first floor. The home itself will likely not collapse, but the first-floor caving in can cause significant damage. Cripple wall bracing is what we do to improve the overall strength of your crawl space and decrease the likelihood that it will cave in during an earthquake.

Increased Stability
The cripple wall bracing improves crawl space stability by adding a structured layer that greatly increase the strength of the walls. Furthermore, we add some material like plywood and framing anchors that will improve the strength and flexibility of the walls. The stability increase can provide you with the peace of mind that your home is more secure and equipped to handle any earthquake that comes its way. This sense of security is what we believe to be more valuable than any profit or income that is generated from doing a cripple wall brace.

Safety Minded
We will be altering your home when we do a cripple wall bracing project. Framing anchors, ventilated holes, and wood backing are all parts of the bracing process. However, we keep safety at the forefront of our minds whenever we do a project. Our work will not jeopardize the stability of your home or create a dangerous environment during the work process. All of our tools and personnel are fully prepared and ready to complete cripple wall bracing in a safe manner. There is never any risk to the home or foundation with our experienced and knowledgeable field staff.
